Checking up on your man!

A few years ago I started dating this guy who seemed to be very nice at first. He wined and dined me and treated me like a lady. He seemed like the perfect gentleman. It’f funny but the world seems to have changed and sometimes you end up feeling like you cannot trust anyone. I dated that guy for six months before I found out that he had a dubious history and had actually been in prison before for sexual harassment! It’s hard to believe that I could have fallen for this guy, but you would have never known he could be like that from meeting him!

This experience really made me think about my conduct with men in the future. I decided that I would do a little ground work the next time I got involved with someone. Sure, some people might take offence to this but I figured that if you’ve got nothing to hide, you’re not going to mind! Any guy that I would want to be with would want me to be safe and happy so I really don’t think there can be any harm in checking people out before you become too close to them.

I did a little research online and I found a great site where you could do a public records search. This was music to my ears but I really wanted to double check that what I was doing wasn’t in any way illegal. I got in touch with the USA Law Enforcement to double check my position. They told me that what I was doing was perfectly legal, and they even thought it was a sensible idea!

Anyway, here I am three years down the line with a great man who I know is safe to be with! I’ll never regret checking him out – it only confirmed what I already thought – that he is a real catch!
